Room was very spacious, bathroom huge. All very clean, water was really nice. 👌Checked in easily, ... receptionist helped me with my bag up to my room. The parking was limited but I managed to get a spot so no problem. I booked my slot for breakfast the evening before. The breakfast was really good, all was cooked nicely. We recently stayed at the Balincourt when following our team (Villa) at AFC Bournemouth. The hotel is a grand old... Victorian property conveniently located a short distance from central Bournemouth and nearby Boscombe. The rooms were clean, comfortable and contemporary. Onsite parking is a real benefit. The breakfast offering was excellent.The staff were really hospitable and welcoming. A special mention to the young lady hosting the breakfast service whom was so very warm, attentive and helpful and had such a fantastic rapport with all of the hotel's guests.Highly recommended.read more

I found the Balincourt Hotel was very well positioned on the Christchurch Road which is very well served with the buses... in to Bournemouth and surrounding towns and villages. The room I had was very good with double bed and a sofa, plus TV and shower and toilet. Breakfast was very good and a good selection to set you up for a days exploring. When we arrived (a little early) we rang the bell and we were greeted by a very friendly and understanding lady. She... advised that the rooms were not quite ready, but we were invited in and we were able to sit in the bar area.We went for a short walk to the beach front and arrived back at 4.30pm. We were told where our room was and when the door was unlocked, we were amazed at the space and the cleanliness of it. We booked a superior double and my goodness, it was simply amazing. The bathroom was clean and spacious. We spent a lovely three days in Bournemouth, based at the Balincourt, which is conveniently located. We were met with... a friendly greeting on our arrival at the hotel. A few minor issues were rapidly resolved. Our room was spacious and light and the bed comfortable. The bathroom had plenty of space and was nicely appointed. The room although large was rather short of shelf and hanging space for two people for three days, and would also have benefited from a few hooks to hang coats and other items on. A full-length mirror would also have been welcome as would an electrical socket by the dressing table.Breakfast service was friendly and efficient, and the provision of gluten free cereals was very welcome. Cooked breakfasts were nicely presented and delicious.Overall we would both definitely recommend the Balincourt as a very pleasant and comfortable base to stay at while in Bournemouth.read more

All I can say is wow! what a lovely place to stay, the whole house was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated, our... room had an enormous bed which was very comfortable, there was bottled water, tea and coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits in the room every day. The room was so clean and crisp with beautiful décor it was lovely. Breakfast has plenty of choice and nothing was too much trouble, the full English was very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful, they made us feel very welcome. The policy of no under 16's meant it was a very peaceful place, you couldn't hear people closing doors or going up and down stairs, there was just no noise, it was a very restful few days. Loved my stay!!I arrived later than 10pm but I called ahead and the person I spoke to was very understanding and... waited for me to arrive.I stayed in Room 10 and found it so homely. Clean, well organised with lots of nice touches. The Balincourt is like stepping back in time a little when Guest Houses really looked after you and had all the cute touches you miss when you go somewhere without them. I stay in a lot of hotels abroad and frankly they are not very nice at all!There was a nice dressing table with complimentary bottles of water and cotton wool balls! Mirror right next to a plug to style your hair. Two nice chairs and a lovely tray with all the tea and coffee you would ever need with biscuits etc.There was ironing board etc and adequate hanging space for your clothes.The bathroom had free toiletries (again not many places have these anymore) and FLANNELS!!!I had a great sleep and all these touches endeared me to the place.Breakfast was also great, I had fruit and yoghurt and an omelette cooked to perfection by the wonderful lady who made me welcome.I would highly recommend and will return whenever I need to stay in Bournemouth. Having previously stayed at this lovely little gem we knew what to expect. We we greeted on our early arrival by Harps... who told us that although early our room was ready and available for us which was fantastic news after a long journey. We already knew of the standards that the Balincourt strive to keep and this time was no different. Room was spotless thanks to the hard working housekeepers the new en-suite was absolutely lovely. Breakfast was once again superb with plenty of variety cooked to perfection and the waiting staff attentive as ever. Superb place to stay when visiting Bournemouth. Although the hotel's communal rooms are outdated, our bedroom and ensuite had been very nicely re-decorated, and fully... equipped. The dining room was also very pleasant overlooking the pretty front garden. The breakfast menu was extensive and the food very nicely presented. Our only comment would be that the quality of the tea and coffee provided at breakfast was not up to the quality of the rest of the menu. The location is ideal for visiting Bournemouth and its environs, regular bus services almost on the doorstep; free car parking on site was also a bonus. The Balincourt came highly recommended to me. My wife and myself spent a long weekend there in early June. The... allocated ground floor room was perfect for my disabled wife. The bed was most comfortable for both of us and breakfast each day was well cooked and sufficient. The waitress could not do enough to ensure that we were happy with all aspects of the breakfast.Access and egress from the premises by car was ok.All in all a great hotel and well worth the price charged.We will be going back.read more

This is a lovely little traditional B&B with great service. It is advertised as five star but there are a few little... improvements that are required which would give it five in my opinion. The decor is a little tired in places, particularly the front door and hallway. Our bed was lovely and comfortable but the bottom sheet did not fit the mattress and was constantly coming 'un-tucked'. The shower power was poor and the valve got stuck, so it remained at one temperature. There are no tissues in the room. The dressing unit is not located near a plug, so almost impossible to see yourself styling your hair, it should be swapped with the wardrobe (room 8). However the welcome was friendly, breakfast service is first class and we could not have wanted for anything during breakfast. We also had a lovely little tea tray in our room, bottles of water and lovely chocolates. Just adding the finer touches would make it perfect.read more

A friendly and warm welcome on arrival. We were able to check in early as room was ready, which was very helpful. Room... was very clean and comfortable, especially the bed. Good tea and coffee facilities, beautifully presented. Lovely toiletries provided, plus flannels. Bar was well equipped and comfortable for drinks and a chat. Breakfast was fantastic. A great selection, all freshly cooked and piping hot. Hotel is just a short walk to Boscombe beach and a reasonable stroll into Bournemouth along seafront. Bus stop a few yards from hotel with very regular service. Would highly recommend this jewel and will certainly be back.read more

We had a double room but was a bit disappointed, hence the three stars. There were no pics of the bathroom when booking... so we assumed it would be ok. The bathroom was small with a shower in the corner which you could just about stand up in. The plug in the sink wouldn't stay down so you couldn't have a wash without leaving the tap running. There was an issue with the toilet but was sorted. Other than that the staff were lovely and breakfast was excellent. Maybe next time will book another room.read more

We booked a late breakfast as that was the only slot left, when showering at 8:30am the water was freezing, on the second morning we showered earlier and the water was warm not hot! We had a great stay and Harps checked us in and was very hospitable during our stay. I liked that we could come and go... but help was on hand if required. We had a query about the bus service and the lady on breakfast was very helpful.The breakfast was very good with lots of choice. No smell of grease or anything.The hotel itself is very well kept and the room was very spacious. We liked the amenities and that we had a lot I.e milk and proper Yorkshire tea bags!The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the front and a 20 minute walk to the town centre. We also walked to the station to catch the bus and this was 15 minutes walk.We really liked the location.read more

When I booked the room I asked for a downstairs room as we are both pensioners and didn't want to be carrying suitcases... up flights of stairs but when we arrived we were put in a room on the second floor which was like an attic with very steep stairs but the owner carried out cases up for us. The room was very clean and pleasant. Breakfast was decent but first day breakfast was served with two fried pigeon eggs, I have never seen such small eggs but next day eggs were normal size after complaining. The lady serving breakfast was very nice and apologised for small eggs. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it but if you are elderly avoid rooms 10 and 11 on 2nd floor.read more
Hotel looked lovely from the outside. Flowers were beautiful so a great impression on arrival. Conveniently situated... for the beach, about 15 minutes walk but buses close by to get into town. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Room was clean, bed and pillows were really comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and loads of choice, service exceptional. Hotel had a small bar but we didn't try that.The shower cubicle was small but to be fair the space was limited and the shower worked very well.read more

A wonderful time in Bournemouth staying at this little gem of a Bed and Breakfast. My room was clean, bright, airy,... comfortable and quiet with all the essentials… plus some lovely little extra bits. We received a warm welcome which lasted until we left and we enjoyed an extra day out and about on our last day without having to carry our luggage, as we were able to leave it in a secure place at the accommodation. Our room was very clean and comfortable although it really does need updating. Point taken that their website did... mention that rooms are being refurbished.We were at the front of the house which is on a busy main road but the house is set back from the road. Someone met us in the lobby and helped us carry our bags to the... room, and nothing more: no warm welcome, no briefings about restaurants, transport etc. The room was fine. although the bed was a small double,. We found a first class hotel pretending to be a guest house but sadly they were found out and we say it's a first... class hotel. The room we had was amazing and not changed apart from redecoration since built, we think Victoria's reign. Tall ceilings and original plaster cornice and light ceiling rose. Breakfast is the most difficult meal for any hotel to get right across the range of offerings. The range was amazing as was the very attentive service with very top quality food cooked to perfection. Would not be out of place in London's expensive West End. Would return in the future and recommend to anyone.read more

We had a very warm welcome which always starts a visit well! My son and I stayed here in separate rooms. As they didn’t... have the rooms we requested next to each other, they kindly upgraded us when we arrived which we really appreciated. The rooms were bright, clean and comfortable. My son’s room had been refurbished. He was very happy with it but he had problems with the pressure in the shower; if we had stayed another night, I would have investigated this but we were short on time. The bar looked welcoming but again we didn’t have time to use it. The TV remote control could do with a clean(Room 2) The staff member at breakfast was very friendly and the food was great - good choices and good portions. Parking at the front of the hotel was useful. We only booked the day before and this really helped us choose as there didn’t seem to be any hotels with free parking! We walked into Bournemouth (about 20/25 mins) and got a taxi back (£5.60) We would stay again.read more

Warm welcome from Harps. Lovely spacious bedroom with TV, tea/coffee, biscuits and a couple of chocolates provided.... Iron and ironing board too. Clean bathroom with shower gels, shampoos etc. Great full English breakfast served by a lovely, very attentive waitress, together with cereals, fruit and yogurts.The only negative was the smallish car park on a first come first served basis. Luckily we managed to get the last space. I think we could have found space in one of the nearby roads off Christchurch Road if we’d needed to, so not the end of the world, but I think there is the room to extend the car park into the front garden to make extra parking.All in all a lovely stay and we can definitely recommend the Balincourt Hotel & Guest House.read more

Stayed here for 4 nights and had two executive rooms. What a lovely break we had here. The rooms are lovely, home... from home and the breakfast was excellent. Everything cooked to order, fresh fruit/yoghurt & cereals available too. The food standard was amazing and toast and drinks were never limited, definitely set the day off perfectly. There is a bar with comfy chairs and tables allowing you to enjoy a relaxing evening, we played Logo which included another couple staying at the Guest House. We have very much enjoyed our stay, room was cleaned everyday and breakfast was delicious! The only issue we had was... with parking, as there was not enough for all the guests, but we managed to park across the road. We had a standard double room and the only thing you have to be prepared for is a quite small shower. This is our second time at Balincourt Guest house (March 2022) and again the room, hospitality and service from Harps... and staff was excellent. The Balincourt guest house is homely, it is clean, tidy, in a quiet area, not far from the beach and accessible to local shops to pick up a few bits for a midnight snack. We will go back again as we enjoyed our time there. Also for someone like myself when I have gone for a nice long walk on the beach its nice to comeback t o be able to have a cup of hot drink and there is always enough tea bags, coffee, sugar, milk and hot chocolate available to be consumed. One of the cleanest places I’ve stayed in, all the little touches in the rooms from a great Selection of hot drinks... with a couple of bottles of water to all the little toiletries everything you would need, we stayed in room 6 at the front of the property facing the beautiful garden also the main road but once you closed the window you had silence it’s a busy road but didn’t affect our stay staff are very friendly and helpful the breakfast was just perfect with a great Selection. Just a short walk to the Sandy beach, would definitely recommend. Just wish we’d booked for longer.read more

Room was... clean and tidy with all the small added extras too make you feel more than welcome. The bed was extremely comfortable as were the pillows. Spacious room was ideal for our stay. Nothing was too much trouble and she is such a kind and caring person that anything we needed or wanted too know she was there too help.
